Trace Cyrus Goes Off on Sister Brandi: Mold, No Water, No Refund

https://pagesix.com/2026/05/30/celebrity-news/trace-cyrus-slams-sister-brandi-for-renting-him-mold-infested-home/

Trace Cyrus, 37, took to Instagram Stories on May 29 to slam DJ sister Brandi, 39, and the gloves are off. The Metro Station musician claims Brandi rented him a mold-infested home and won’t refund his money. In a series of unfiltered videos, Trace didn’t hold back—calling out not just the moldy walls but the whole situation as symptomatic of a deeper Cyrus family rot.

Here’s what went down: Trace showed ceiling damage with significant mold and alleged he only recently regained access to clean water in the house. He’s sleeping on an air mattress downstairs. The kicker? His new music is delayed because he has to move houses again. But instead of just venting privately, Trace took it public—and escalated fast. In a follow-up video, he said the first clip was “about a level three,” warning Brandi not to send intermediaries and threatening: “Do the f—ing right thing or this is about to get real entertaining.”

The Cyrus family drama is becoming its own reality show. Trace has previously had intense online disputes with dad Billy Ray Cyrus and brother Braison, at one point implying they were abusing drugs and alcohol and alleging Billy Ray threatened him with legal action. Tish and Billy Ray called it quits in 2022, and various family spats have played out publicly since. But this one hits different because it’s sibling-on-sibling in a business context. Brandi is an actress and DJ who co-hosted Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design and Conquer on Bravo—she knows image, she knows business, she knows better.

In the videos, Trace said Brandi was “begging him to live in the house for years,” but now he says he “has no respect for her” and “she is not a good person.” That’s the sound of a relationship breaking in real time. Brandi has not commented.

The 16BARS take: When family becomes landlord, somebody’s getting hurt—and apparently it’s the guy sleeping on an air mattress trying to make music. Trace’s rage is justified, but the Cyrus blueprint of airing dirty laundry on the ‘Gram is starting to feel less like genuine hurt and more like the family’s default setting.
