Don Toliver brought Drake out at his sold-out Scotiabank Arena show in Toronto on Monday night—and the moment wasn’t just another celebrity cameo. This was Drake performing live ICEMAN tracks for the first time in an arena, three songs that had never hit a stage in that setting before: “Shabang,” “Burning Bridges,” and “Janice STFU,” the last of which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 when the album dropped in May. The crowd erupted. Drake took the mic afterward, visibly humbled: “I just wanna thank Don for having me out tonight. But here’s what made the move politically loaded: Don Toliver and Travis Scott are Houston brothers. They’ve locked in on tracks together (“Flocky Flocky,” “Euphoria”). Toliver’s whole brand is rooted in that H-Town ecosystem. And he just gave Drake the reddest of carpets.
The beef rumors between Drake and Travis Scott have been simmering since 2024, when the Kendrick Lamar feud exposed fractures. Drake and Travis had been riding together for years—they made “Sicko Mode,” one of the biggest rap smashes of the 2010s. But when the culture moved on Drizzy last year, Travis stayed diplomatically silent. That silence turned weird when Drake took aim back: during his “It’s All A Blur” tour, he performed their collab “Meltdown” and literally aimed a mock rifle at a giant Travis Scott head prop, screaming and firing fake shots into it. The message was clear.
What happened since? Mixed signals. Travis has shown love publicly—praising Drake’s “What Did I Miss?” on Instagram in July 2025, jamming to “NOKIA” at Coachella. But he’s also stayed close with The Weeknd and Cash XO, both of whom Drake has beefed with. The ambiguity has kept the rumor mill grinding ever since.
By bringing Drake to Toronto, Toliver essentially chose a lane. Not anti-Drake, not walking on eggshells, just celebrating the music and the moment. Don’t sleep on the symbolism: Toliver just finished his first arena tour leg and is on Octane’s “Leg 2” run, building real momentum. Drake, who hasn’t toured North America since 2023’s “It’s All A Blur,” got a test drive for new material with a crowd that will remember it. Toliver’s Miami show earlier had Justin Timberlake come through (because Don sampled “Rock Your Body”), but the Drake appearance is different—it’s cultural, it’s risky, it’s a statement.
