Machine Gun Kelly wasted no time mocking Conor McGregor after his UFC return ended in disaster at UFC 329 on July 11, with McGregor’s comeback fight lasting just 69 seconds before referee Mike Beltran waved it off. The rapper didn’t hold back—and when fans hit the comments saying he was kicking McGregor while he’s down, MGK had the perfect comeback: “Dude, f this guy when he’s down, up, sideways, asleep, while I’m peeing (sorry,) umm, f him.”

But that’s the REAL energy. This isn’t a random celebrity pile-on. The rivalry between the two dates back to the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The situation nearly got physical, as McGregor swung at MGK as Megan Fox and security separated them. For five years, MGK sat on that smoke. And when the Notorious One walked into the octagon on Saturday night in Vegas, the rapper was watching.

McGregor suffered a knee injury after the opening bell, appearing to land awkwardly from a flying roundhouse kick, and was unable to stand properly, prompting the referee stoppage. UFC President Dana White told reporters at the post-fight press conference that doctors suspect McGregor tore his ACL. The whole thing was catastrophic—a five-year comeback destroyed in less time than it takes to microwave a burrito.

MGK pounced immediately. On Instagram, he wrote, “knees weak of old age the real conor can’t stand up” alongside a pic of their 2021 run-in. The post mixed footage of McGregor’s loss with a photo from that red-carpet moment. Classic trolling, smart execution—MGK was making a STATEMENT. But the real masterclass came when he doubled down the next day.

On Instagram, MGK said, “I’m aware I did a post yesterday and I should probably apologize for absolutely nothing, homie. F*** this dude. That’s how beef works. We don’t like each other.” Zero apology energy. Zero backtrack. Then he leveled up with the personal attacks. “Buddy, you look like a drunk, ugly extra in a Sherlock Holmes movie. What in the 1934 am I looking at? Fix your face.”

Here’s the thing: McGregor created this. In 2021, McGregor approached Megan Fox at the red carpet, and when Kelly responded with “we don’t f— with you,” McGregor threw liquid and lunged forward. At the time, McGregor claimed he didn’t even know who MGK was. But five years later, McGregor recalled saying to MGK, “You don’t fuck with me? You were ringside at the fight two days ago,” and added, “He’s lucky he didn’t get his face broke badly there.”

So when Saturday’s fight turned into a 69-second hospital visit, the culture wasn’t shocked to see MGK celebrate. McGregor’s comeback against Max Holloway ended in a first-round injury TKO after his right knee gave out just 69 seconds into the fight. He came back from a five-year layoff talking about the biggest comeback in sports history, and his own body said no.

And there’s context nobody’s talking about loud enough: In November 2024, a Dublin jury found McGregor liable for sexually assaulting Nikita Hand during an encounter at a hotel penthouse in 2018, and the court ultimately awarded Hand damages and ordered him to cover substantial legal costs. The comeback was always going to be messy. MGK just made it worse—and he’s refusing to apologize for it.

The 16BARS take: The beef was supposed to stay dead in 2021, but it’s still alive and well in 2026. MGK didn’t manufacture this—McGregor threw the first punch. Now the rapper’s just keeping the same energy and laughing at the outcome. Beef doesn’t need an apology when you’ve got the receipts.
