Cam’ron threatened to leak an unreleased Cardi B collaboration on Wednesday and also expose alleged dirty secrets of several unnamed members of her team — and the Harlem legend made it crystal clear: his beef isn’t with Bardi, but with whoever’s been running game on both of them.
On the season finale of his Talk With Flee show, Cam told how members of Cardi’s team approached him years ago to contribute a verse and a hook to a remake of his 2000 track “What Means the World to You,” with the agreement that Cardi would sit down for an interview on his show It Is What It Is. After a long series of delays and intermittent pressure from Cardi’s team, Cam says he delivered the verse and the hook. Simple: drop the remix, do the interview. That’s the deal. That’s business.
But then nothing. When Cardi B’s album Am I the Drama? was released on September 19, 2025, the song wasn’t on it. Cardi’s team told Cam the younger people loved it but some didn’t like her flowing on a ’90s beat, so they scrapped it. Cam got no interview. Cam got nothing. And he held that L for months.
But patience, as they say, runs out. Cam now says he wants his interview, or money “to compensate me for my time.” If not, he said he would leak the remake on the YouTube page of his You’re Welcome Network. And that’s just the warning shot. He threatened to reveal sexually explicit information — and possibly photos — involving the two Cardi team members who had, he said, spent years harassing him for the never-used verse.
Here’s the thing that shows real restraint and real respect: Cam’ron was clear the dispute had nothing to do with Cardi herself. He even called her his sister. The It Is What It Is co-host began by emphasizing he has no beef with Cardi herself and praised her, but alleges the people on her management and writing teams are on his bad side, saying “I love Cardi B, but you gotta get the right team around you man”. This isn’t a rappers’ feud. This is a businessman getting played by middlemen who don’t know how to close a deal.
This also isn’t Cam’ron’s first rodeo with this kind of situation. The source material mentions he allegedly made a similar deal with J. Cole that devolved into a now-settled lawsuit. So when Cam says he’s tired of people doing him dirty in the name of collabs, he means it — and he’s got receipts to back it up.
The bigger picture here is what’s broken in hip-hop infrastructure right now. It’s not just Cam’ron sitting on unreleased bars with a Bronx legend. It’s that so many artists can’t seem to get the fundamentals right: handshake deals, follow-through, respect for the work. You ask somebody for a feature, you commit to what you promised. You don’t ghost them and hope they forget. You definitely don’t have your team ignore them when the album ships. Cardi B’s a major force in the culture — she doesn’t need to let her people operate this way. And Cam’ron made that distinction crystal clear.
